The timeline below shows the anticipated lifecycle of this project, including the current (active) stage and the approximate timings of future stages if the scheme is approved and implemented.

1. Launch public consultation

   Complete December 2022 to February 2023

   This consultation gave residents the opportunity to comment on our plans to vary the Clean Air Zone (CAZ) Charging Order in Bath, which would allow us to introduce a £50 charge on Class N3 Euro 6 diesel HGVs that enter the charging scheme area.

2. Publish consultation feedback report

   On target Spring 2023

   We are in the process of assessing and considering all the feedback from the consultation, some of which is quite detailed.

   We will publish the consultation feedback report in Spring 2023, and you will be able to read it on this page.

3. Final decision

   On target Summer 2023

   We will consult the Director of Place Management who will consult with the Cabinet Member for Transport, and they will make a decision about varying the Charging Order.

4. Charge implemented

   On target Summer 2023

   If the decision is made to progress with the scheme, we expect to implement the charge in Summer 2023. If approved, we will work closely with affected businesses and operators before and during the implementation period.
