Combined, the Current and Futures Report and this plan culminate in the Journey to Net Zero: Reducing the Environmental Impact of Transport in Bath. It identifies the challenges that the district faces in terms of transport both now and in the future, and also the measures required to overcome these, to support the realisation of our core policy theme to tackle the Climate and Ecological Emergency.
This plan collates the projects that the Council is already committed to, as well as those that are in motion, and future projects that we may consider and develop in order to meet our aims. The table below summarises the projects contained within this plan, giving a quick 'big picture' view of all of the projects, in comparison with each other.
It shows where each project is in the three stages of development, their timescales for delivery and, where this information is available, a high-level rating of their potential cost and potential carbon reduction impact. Where data is missing, for example, when a project is recommended but hasn't yet been approved, we will add it when it becomes available.

Delivery timescales
In this context, short term projects are ones which should have easily definable end point, and take weeks or months to deliver. Medium term projects are likely to take one to around three years to complete, and long term measures would take perhaps five years, and in some cases, ten years or more to implement.
Carbon reduction impact
Cost
This shows the relative costs of these measures. Costs are on a sliding scale, with 1 as lower, and 5 as very high cost. Please note that most of these projects are large-scale measures, so costs may range from tens of thousands of pounds to millions of pounds to implement.
