(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF THE ONE-WAY-RESTRICTION)

(TEMPORARY INTRODUCTION OF A 3.5 TONNE WEIGHT LIMIT FOR DELIVERIES)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2024

 

Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order to the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce:

  • A road closure in that length of Cheltenham Street, Westmoreland, Bath from its junction with the rear lane behind Roman Glass extending south to a point approximately outside property number 26. USRN: 47916571.
  • A temporary suspension of the one-way restriction allowing cars exiting the garages at 26 and 27 Cheltenham Street to turn left and exit the road onto Westmoreland Road for the duration of the road closure.
  • Introduction of a 3.5 tonne weight limit for deliveries onto the site for the duration of the road closure.

 

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable contractors to install drainage system connections to a new build development on the 11th March 2024 for a maximum period of 4 weeks. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for TWO WEEKS.

 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Cheltenham Street (remainder) – Westmoreland Road – Lower Bristol Road – Vice Versa.
